Success

Success is an iceberg... lots of things go unseen to get to a place where you feel achievement and success. Never judge another or expect things come easily to anyone. Success takes sacrifice, persistence, failure, disappointment and let down. It also takes dedication, hard work, motivation, good habits and ambition. Never assume someone came by their fortune by sheer luck. Luck is merely where preparation meets opportunity.

Year End Reflection

As the year comes to a close both for my final semester in college and for my final FULL year with my company (I have worked for Universal for 1.5 years) I have taken some time to reflect on my personal goals and how I have grown as an individual, a student and a sales professional. These are a few key takeaways I have gleaned from my boss' presentation pushing us to grow more within our field of discipline. I hope to look back a year from now and see growth as tremendous as I have seen during 2015. Enjoy!

We spend a lot of time talking about all of the things that we have to do.

You have to wake up early for work.

You have to make another sales call for your business.

You have to work out today.

You have to make dinner.

...Now, imagine changing just one word in the sentences above.

You don’t “have” to. You “get” to.

You get to wake up early for work.

You get to make another sales call for your business.

You get to work out today

You get to make dinner

I think it’s important to remind yourself that the things you do each day are not burdens, they are opportunities. So often, the things we view as work are actually the reward.

Embrace your constraints. Fall in love with boredom. Do the work.

You don’t have to. You get to.
